This post aims to describe the features we’re offering as part of our platform, along with showing how they can be useful depending on your goals and metrics.

PublicSquare has been working with Canadian non-profits and political representatives and individual advisors from the advocacy/policy space for the past year.

After over 5 iterations of our core platform, we’ve developed a great understanding of how technology can improve engagement for influence in the advocacy/policy space. We’re currently offering the following technologies as part of our beta:

  • Megaphone— Educate and get feedback from your community, in one swift motion!
  • Discovery Spaces— Let your community voice their ideas, excitements & frustrations in a civil and moderated way.
  • Digital town halls— Address your community live, via video at a fraction of the cost of tele-town halls & in-person engagements.

Here they are, explained in detail:

Megaphone

Website based solution to let you delightfully engage your stakeholders. Step beyond the standard emails and social media posts. Share your messaging creatively, get feedback and extract intelligent insights to build greater loyalty and grow your base.

Implementation:

  • Admin panel to create engagements, view results/analytics and view insights we generate for you (based on the engagement results). You can also invite your stakeholders from here (using our built-in email scheduling system and links to share on social media, etc.)
  • User panel for your stakeholders to complete your engagement. These will be websites that are optimized for a great user experience on mobile phones, tablets and computers.

Goals/metrics we try to optimize for you::

  • Engagement conversion, you share your message with lots of people (via your email list, social following and more), but do you know how people are engaging with your content? What are the attributes of your followers? Are you letting them give you enough feedback?
  • Growing your reach/supporter list, let’s stoke your community to spread the message. The right user experience and narrative building can be the difference between someone who merely enjoys your message and someone who’s ready to share it with their friends/family/community.
  • Personalization/Segmentation, you share content about different topics that impact your stakeholders, and depending on who they are, they care deeply (or not at all) about different topics. Our platform optimizes to get the right message to your supporters that are most likely to appreciate it/engage with it.

Discovery Spaces

Digital spaces for your stakeholders to engage on a specific or general topic. Take a more crowd-sourced approach to a community wide conversation. Let users ask questions, share suggestions/ideas and vote on submissions help your understand what your stakeholders are most/least supportive of and more. All crowd-sourced content can be moderated by you (or you can choose to toggle the moderation functionality).

Implementation:

  • Admin panel to mange your Discovery Space, view results/analytics. Moderate the submissions from your users. Manage your discovery space to toggle on/off different features, flexibility on privacy/anonymity for your stakeholders (based on your requirements/goals).
  • User panel that’s mobile/tablet/desktop optimized, to let your users engage in the discovery space. Asking questions, suggesting answers to questions, sharing ideas/suggestions for various proposals/topics.

Goals/metrics we try to optimize for you::

  • # of ideas/suggestions/votes, crowd-sourced from your community. This is a meaningful way to give your community a voice. Let your stakeholders share what excites them and what frustrates them. To top it off, admin moderation means you can keep the conversation civil and meaningful. This method requires minimal content creation on your part (compared to Megaphone).
  • Growing your reach/supporter list, let’s stoke your community to spread the message. The right user experience and narrative building can be the difference between someone who enjoys your message and someone who’s ready to share it with their friends/family/community.

Virtual Events (town halls, fundraisers, etc.)

You’ve heard of physical town halls, you’ve heard of tele-town halls, now we have virtual town halls. This is a video/webinar based engagement for you stakeholders. Get 100s or 1000s of your community members watching your live video address, with moderated question asking.

Implementation:

  • Admin panel to create your digital town hall, see how many users are viewing your town hall, review incoming questions, select questions to answer.
  • User panel, mobile/tablet/desktop optimized page to view your live town hall, and submit their questions. Other users can also live vote on which questions they’re most interested in.

Goals/metrics we try to optimize for you::

  • Address 100s/1000s of your community members, in a live, digital panel/webinar as a replacement for you in-person digital town hall/consultation.
  • Answer trending questions, from your community members, moderated by your team. Answers can be indexed to be shared later on, through emails, social media, etc.
